Vaginoplasty - Help you

Vaginoplasty is a unique surgical technique created to tighten the internal vaginal muscles. The ideal patient for a Vaginoplasty, also referred to as vaginal tightening, will be a woman who feels her vaginal canal is too loose, often as a result of stretching during childbirth or the aging process.

The Vaginoplasty procedure is performed by Dr. Vitenas at the Houston Surgery Center, in one of his private operating suites. The Houston Surgery Center is located adjacent to Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery, and is only steps away from Dr. Vitenas’ office.

The outpatient surgery will take from one to two hours, depending on the patient’s needs. General anesthesia or a local anesthetic with IV sedation may be used. The Vaginoplasty begins with a small incision, located on the posterior (rear) floor of the vagina. Once the incision is made, a portion of the posterior vaginal wall is excised and the muscles are tightened.

Patients can expect their recovery after Vaginoplasty to last from seven to fourteen days. Initially, there will be some soreness after the surgery, and light bleeding may occur during the first post-op day. Bruising and mild swelling may also be present, although these side effects usually fade within one to two days.

Though many women are comfortable returning to work within three to five days following their Vaginoplasty, vigorous exercise and strenuous activity should be put off for four to six weeks. Sexual intercourse should also be postponed during this time.
